Balance is very important right?

It is one of the first things you learn to do in order to walk: to balance on your own two feet. It is also the first thing you need to get right if you want to be able to ride a bike. You also need a balanced diet to live a healthy life and need to be able to find the right balance of exercise-eating to be able to sustain a healthy weight. If you have children, you need to be able to balance being a parent and being their friend; spending time with them to meet their emotional needs vs doing things for them to meet their day to day needs. The list goes on…

What else would you need balance on? I bet you heard the phrase ‘work-life balance’ quite a lot. Why is there such a concept I wonder?
